The idea was the brainchild of Dinesh Mojumder, the club president who settled in the US 10 years ago. It was his dream to host Durga Puja at this iconic spot of the city.
The Times Square Durga Puja 2024, organized by the Bengali Club USA, marked a historic moment as the first-ever celebration of the festival in the heart of New York City. The two-day event (October 5-6, 2024) attracted global attention through vibrant traditional rituals, Bollywood dances, Sindhur Khela, and cultural festivities.
